This was a really unsatisfactory day for me. Why?
I don’t really know what I’m doing or why.

We’ve tried different techniques of paint handling but in doing that I seem to have lost the basic foundations of colour mixing and going from dark, medium, to light that worked so successfully last term. Maybe it doesn’t matter. I’d also done a preparatory oil pastel drawing of New Cross Gate at night. Thought it would be a great oil painting but so far it is a bit sludgy and aimless.

Traffic lights picture that I quite liked in a minimalist way, became less likeable. I’m going to try to paint some more definite blocks of colour next week.
